I understand that the transition from high school to college can be tough on individuals, myself included. I went to high school in a little city outside of Madison, Wisconsin. After graduation I left the comfort of my home state and moved to Texas to pursue a career in the nursing field at The University of Texas at Tyler. Not only was I a new college freshman, but I also had no idea how different Wisconsin education was from Texas. I remember siting in my first year english composition class and I had no idea what the professor was talking about because I was never taught that information. After experiencing that, I made it my mission to help incoming college freshman understand the expectations of a first year english composition course.
